If you are looking for a cheap good value, well located (khoasan rd) oasis amid the madness of bangkok then look no further, service good, friendly staff, rooms ok for price, great decor. There are to entrance to villa cha cha just be carefull of the back entrance as this is a typical bangkok back alley but does bring you out right onto9 khoasan rd, so enjoy1 i did.

We stayed for 5 nights in June 2009 with our 2 small children. Very happy, great little place and much closer to Khao San Rd than we thought it would be. The staff were friendly and fabulous with our children. Nice litle pool with plenty of space for relaxing.

Desk staff were helpful with sightseeing tips and approximate prices for taxis and tuk-tuks. Only down side was that our room had a poor view and no balcony access. Get a room with balcony access over-looking the pool.

super location. hotel is in perfectly situated (second road behind famous Kao San Road).Even tho its based next to one of the busiest street, its supriesly quiet inside.Rooms are specious and clean. We choose queen suite(which bed size is more like king size or bigger)Hotel has small swimming pool which is so good after hot day in Bangkok. We had no problems with hotel att all.Rooms have katlle and supply free water botles. its just perfect for for all backpackers, couples and people wanting to get some nightlife, super cheap food (meal for 2 and drinks 5nz$) lots of drinking and market to bargain.

Dont be afraid to go out and eat from the local stalls, look for places where u can see your meal being cooked. .we have been there for 1 week, dinnig everyday had no problems.Yes u cant have upset stomach but just because of the hot food and new bacteria which stomach is not normally used to..Just be aware of using crused ice in drinks as sometimes it can be from tap water.we definaltly will go back to villa cha cha. enjoy your time!

This hotel was OK for the area. The staff were friendly and at least there was the benefit of a pool. The room was large but the air-con took ages to kick into gear to give you a half decent temperture. They could do with guide books in the room..there was just a list stating how much you had to pay if you broke anything. I didn't like the bathroom doors either..just a glass partition really. But..if you want to be in this area...it's probably one of the better hotels. Would only recommend if I knew people definitely wanting to be in this area of Bangkok. They were good enough to ring us on route to the airport and let me know I had left my laptop behind and they sent it on in a taxi.

Now before I start, I have to say that our opinion of Bangkok may be biased considering the time of year we went. We arrived on the eve of Songkran Festival. A celebration of water and pasting everyone in your wake, that lasted 3 days... the entire time we were there. Sooo, that being said... I think if you're young and like the party scene, then this hotel is in a good location for you.

The hotel itself is not a party place, but an oasis of calm. If there are festivities being had outside of the hotel, chances are you'll be caught up in the thick of it if you stay here. Our room overlooked the pool which was quite nice and luckily it was further from Rambutri Rd than some of the other rooms. Considering Songkran went on all night long like a massive street-party, rave, full of soaking wet people, water guns, white paste or clay all over the place and loud music the further away the better. So, if you're in your early 20's and like that sort of scene, this hotel offers very close proximity.

The food at the restaurant was good. We could walk to the Grand Palace. Better to make the trip early as the days just get hotter and hotter.

The bed was quite comfortable & clean. We had the junior Queen room, but I think the bed was closer to king sized! Nice... The bathroom was a bit on the musty side, so we left the fan on all the time which helped. One slight negative was that we noticed some tiny ants or insects on the wall on the second day, opposite the bed. We just sprayed them with Off Skintastic and they were done instantly!

For the price, and quality, this hotel is great! I would stay again, except might prefer something away from Kao San... too old for that!! LOL

Literally an oasis of calm in the midst of the madness of Koh San Road and the surrounding area! Lovely pool, friendly staff, rooms are spacious and modern with great facilities - all in all brilliant value for money and fantastic location.

I stayed at Villa Cha Cha (pre-booked) on my first night in Thailand.. It really lived up to my expectations.. Very kitsch lobby and relaxing pool/breakfast area. Buddha statues everywhere and it really felt like I was finally in Thailand.. Fab proximity to Khao San Road but just enough out of the way to avoid the noise.

First night I stayed in a Queen room overlooking the pool.. very clean, very nice.. I liked it so much that we stayed there again on our return from backpacking around the Southern Islands.. Stayed for 3 more nights but this time in a cheaper junior room in the other building.. was good value for money, clean, similar bathroom just not as flash as the Queen room.. Obviously spent most of our time sightseeing elsewhere, but always ended up having a night cap back on the raised platform overlooking the pool. Nice staff too.. Only (minor) complaint is that the restuarant is ran by a separate company - so you couldn't put your food on the room bill.

For the road parallel to Khao San road entrance.. You have to walk down a back alley full of locals cooking weird and wonderful meals, with rabbits and chickens wandering about. The place made me smile and of course I would go there again..

I don't even know where to begin. I simply loved staying in VIlla Cha Cha. It is simply, beautiful! The way they designed the place, from the main lobby by the pool and the rooms is very simple, and yet very unique and relaxing. You get an instant feel that you are in Thailand.

It is very affordable, (I paid 1400 Baht a night, which is very good considering I got a room with airconditioning, a private bath, and a Queen sized bed! Not to mention it is just parallel to Khao San road), plus very comfortable.

I went to Thailand on a bit of a budget, but I was going with my fiancee so I wanted to book us in a place that was a bit nicer than the average backpacker hotel on Khao San road. I am thankful that I ended booking a room in Villa Cha Cha. The staff were very kind and helpful, and they allowed to pay per day with the choice of paying wither by cash or card. That was a great convenience. Aside form the fact that it is in the Khao San road area, and near Old Bangkok, the place is set up so nicely that if you just want to stay in and laze around by the pool, you won't feel like you're wasting your trip.

I only ate a meal there once, with a beer, and the food was okay. Of course, the prices are more expensive than if you venture outside of the Khao San area, but that is to be expected from a hotel in a touristy area like that. However, that didn't bother us too much, we were eating out most of the time anyways, and there is so much cheap and delicious spicy Thai food all over Bangkok to choose from!

Definitely a must book!

What can I say about Villa Cha Cha apart from it being a perfect oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Khao San Road. I checked in at about 10 in the evening and found the welcome to be very friendly by the receptionist and the porter who took my bags to the room. I stayed in a Queen Room overlooking the pool and main area. I found it all to be rather peaceful. The room was extremely comfortable and very clean. The bathroom/shower was spotless, which is all good.

The location itself is perfect if you like all the craziness of Khao San Road. Villa Cha Ch is situated a couple of roads parallel to Khao San and is a perfect location. The main street leading to the hotel is more local Thai rather than backpacker and is quite busy and then you turn the corner into the alley leading to Villa Cha Cha and you enter into this zen like garden. A complete different world. Very nicely done.

I thoroughly recommend the hotel for its comfortable surroundings and helpful and friendly staff. I loved it and would stay again.

"Great place to stay in Bangkok"

Great place to stay just 5 mins walk from Kao San road, and it felt like a mini oasis compared to the hecticness of the nearby area. We had a junior queen quite which was a lovely room, clean, not too noisy (despite being pool view, so thought there may have been noise from the bar area below in the evenings). Would say it was slightly pricier than the other places I had looked at in Bangkok, but was not overly expensive and was worth every penny.

Only thing I would say is, we booked a taxi with the hotel at 6am to take us to the airport, they didn't actually call or chase the taxi until we chased them, so would've missed our flight. Then of the fare we paid, the hotel kept 100 baht and we had the taxi driver moaning at us the whole journey saying he had been robbed! I think it would've been easy just to get a taxi on the street.

"Very nice boutique-like guest house"

This is another guest house hotel owned by Sawadee. Cha Cha Villa is in a great location, just a couple of blocks from Kao San Road, but not right on it.

Though it's considerably pricier than many of the other choices in the area, you probably do get what you pay for, with a pool, AC rooms, and excellent Thai design located throughout. The bathroom is also great. Rooms are very spacious. The only complaint is that there is literally zero closet or drawer space, but there are little tables to put your clothes on.

I highly recommend the Cha Cha for people who have done backpacking on the cheap and are now looking for something a little nicer.

The hotel has a similar feel to some of the island hotels, with very cool Thai and Burmese art throughout, a chill pool, and a bunch of places to sit and relax with a drink. There's also a sauna, which seems like an odd addition for such a humid place, but we actually used it 2 or 3 times.

My partner and I stayed at Villa Cha Cha at the beginning and ending of our trip in Bangkok.

We loved it- it has a great ambience in the middle of the old Bangkok/ Kao San area- you step in off the street and feel like you are miles away from the markets and madness! The owners/ managers know their stuff, the place is well decorated, styley and relaxed.

We stayed in a Junior King room first, which was large and nice, not much of a view at all, but clean, air conditioned and tastefully decorated. On our second stay, we chose a Junior Queen, and asked for a pool side view. This room was much nicer - with art, beautiful paint job and cool Thai style- ask for room 1304!

There is a pool and sauna which is fantastic, which is infront of the restaurant/bar/reception area, and all around are pretty Thai statues and art. Beside the pool is a double storied Thai style seating area- really pretty. Internet is free plus their's wireless.

1304 was a bit noisier with the hotel music system but fine, the music is good and stops around 10/11pm.

The menu caters for tourists and has a selection of Thai food. Step aside and you have heaps of great choices on Kao San and Rambutri. Cocktails were average.

Bad stuff- not much. There seemed to be a couple of travel touts who came in at dinner time and had some drinks while trying to jack up jobs with tourists, which felt intrusive in such a nice place- we just didnt make eye contact! The porter will offer to take your bags to you room, and then expect a tip. Take your bags yourself, theres a lift.

Over all- we thought it was a great place in the best location, the old town rather than the new town- you get a real taste of Bangkok life. We caught air conditioned cabs (get metered cabs!) to Siam Square, MBK etc for shopping and movies- roughly 100 baht one way, we usually tipped approx 20 baht. Or catch the boat- heaps cheaper, and a good experience. Ask about it at reception.

This was the first hotel we stayed in when we arrived in Thailand. Recommend booking the Junior King Suites. Some of the rooms have a smell to them (which you get used to after you have been in there for a few minutes), but otherwise very spacious and clean. The pool area is beautiful, and the staff are very helpful. Right in the middle of the backpacker area but close to major attractions.

Beware the 30 baht tuk tuk scam....you will end up in several tailor shops and miss out on the attractions!

I spent 4 nights here at the start of my trip to SE Asia. It was my 1st time in Thailand and the location was perfect for walking to most of the sights I wanted to see. Khao San Road is just 2 streets over if that is important to you.

My room was good-sized and clean. There was complimentary water refreshed every day as the tap water isn't safe to drink or brush your teeth with. The TV had a couple of english language channels, and the room I had on the 4th floor was quiet. Most important to me was the air-con, a must as I was adjusting to the heat and humidity of Bangkok, and after walking for hours in the heat it was wonderful to come back to a room that would cool down quickly.

Be aware the bathroom (at least in my room) didn't have glass in the windows, just bars made from bamboo across them so you need to keep the bathroom door closed to keep the room cool.

The women at the front desk were quite serious and unfriendly, but not as surly as the main waitress in the hotel restaurant. But service was prompt and the food was okay.

Overall a good mid to low range option.
